Michael Henderson, Mendocino coast resident since 1977, finds artistic expression through a wide range of art media. He began sketching and painting in his early teens and is mostly self-taught. He has developed a working familiarity with such media as sculpture, ceramics, block printing, and photography. He has painted in acrylics and watercolor and drawn in graphite, charcoal, carbon, Conté crayon, and colored pencil. He is currently better known for his drawings and pit fired ceramics.

A hardware store salesman by day, he creates in his spare time at Henderson Studios in Point Arena, a three studio home he shares with Jennie Lee Henderson, a textile artist who can be found on this website.
