MEG OLDMAN has been creating beautiful sand carved crystal and glass art for over twenty years. She uses both representational and abstract designs to communicate symbolically in a language of emotion and empathy. Much of her work is inspired by the current events that shape our lives, as well as her inner visions and memories.

Meg is a graduate of The California College of Arts and Crafts. She has also attended the Pilchuck Glass School, where she was admitted on the basis of her portfolio and was awarded a 1/2 scholarship. She spent many years working in collaboration with Erté, for whom she sand carved seventeen different designs in crystal.

Meg’s elegant work can be found across the world in such notable collections as The Togu Palace in Tokyo, The John Lennon Estate in New York, The Erte Estates in both Paris and London, and in Elizabeth Taylor’s collection in Los Angeles.

She has developed distinctive techniques to create a broad spectrum of work, which includes kiln-slumped sculptural work, finely detailed crystal vessels, large-scale screens and architectural installations, as well as decorative illuminated pieces. Margaret carves her designs using pressurized sand, highlighting the deeper carved areas with light frosting techniques for balance and depth.

Currently, Meg is focusing on the use of cultural symbols and images from nature to create synergy in her designs. She looks to bring harmony and balance into homes and offices through her elegant installations. Her most recent projects are explorations into the world of fused, slumped, and sand carved glass.
