Artist's books, prints, photography,
video

I combine old and new technologies to explore the biological world, specifically that of the Northern California coast.

My studio is largely focused on artists’ books these days. The construction of these books involves photography and digital printing, letterpress and paper making, laser-etched printing plates, watercolor painting and computerized drawing machines among other processes. The topic focuses on evolution and environment, specifically the flora and fauna along the Sonoma coast. I’ve been a professor of Experimental Media in Stanford’s Department of Art & Art History for the past twenty years, where I continue to teach book-making and hybrid printmaking.

Directions to Studio #2 at 22151 Bufano Court, Timber Cove. Heading South on Hwy 1 from Gualala, turn left on Ruoff (South of Salt Point, North of the Timber Cove Resort), follow Ruoff uphill and then as it turns 90° right, then zigzag down a dip and as you come back up, look for Bufano on the right as Ruoff bends left. Take Bufano to first driveway on left.
