Suzanne Dunn is a ceramic artist and painter who works on the Mendocino Coast of California. She has a BFA from San Francisco Art Institute with additional studio education at CCA Oakland. Dunn also studied Art History at UCLA, and has worked as a curatorial assistant at SFAI and SFMOMA in San Francisco; and SMMOA in Santa Monica, CA. For several years she owned Seed Gallery, Hawaii. Dunn received her ceramics education at SFAI, DVC in Pleasant Hill, CA, and with Japanese Master Potter Shiro Otani. She often refers to the shapes from the Mid-20th century in her work. Conversely she also uses natural glazes and some of the ceramic techniques of Japan. She has been firing Japanese woodfire Anagama kilns throughout the US since 2015. Dunn is currently working on a new web site which will feature her unique ceramics for sale year round.
